Veteran Memorial Project Seeks Donors to Expand Global Virtual Tour

New platform aims to honor veterans through accessible online memorials

Severance, Oct. 28, 2026 -- Veteran Memorial Project announces a fundraising campaign to grow its global virtual tour of military memorials. The nonprofit seeks donors to support technology, content creation, and outreach initiatives that will connect families, veterans, and communities worldwide.

Veteran Memorial Project is building the world’s largest and most accessible virtual tour of military memorials. The platform links veterans’ names to their memorials, allowing users to explore, share, and remember those who served.

The organization was founded by Army veteran Dan Kost, who grew up in a family where nearly every adult man served. Kost’s personal history of sacrifice and loss inspired the mission to preserve the stories of veterans and their families.

Since its inception, the project has documented memorials around the globe. It relies on community collaboration and technology to create meaningful connections between people and the memorials that honor their loved ones.

"Our goal is to keep the stories of our heroes alive for future generations," said Dan Kost, CEO. "By connecting people to the memorials that matter most to them, we create a living tribute that transcends time."

The platform offers a comprehensive database that allows users to search for specific memorials by name, location, or branch of service. Families can upload photos, write memories, and share stories that bring each memorial to life.

Veteran Memorial Project has already partnered with local veterans’ organizations, schools, and community groups to gather content. These partnerships have helped the project grow to include over 15,000 memorials worldwide.

Future plans include adding interactive maps, augmented-reality tours, and educational resources for students. The organization also aims to develop a mobile app to make the virtual tour more accessible to people on the go.

The fundraising campaign will fund technology upgrades, content acquisition, and outreach programs. Donors will help expand the database, improve user experience, and ensure the platform remains free and open to the public.

Veteran Memorial Project invites individuals, foundations, and corporate partners to support this mission. Contributions will directly impact the preservation of veterans’ legacies and the accessibility of their stories to the world.
